Third period made the difference
The Remparts and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan were playing tonight’s 3rd game of Round 4 of 7 in the Videotron Centre.
For a third consecutive game, the Titan opens the score. Russian Vladimir Kuznetsov let go a shot from the wrists to beat Kiselev over his left shoulder. It’s 1-0 Acadie-Bathurst. In the end of the period, Jordan Maher surprised Kiselev of the corner of the ice. We retire to the locker room with the Titan in advance 2-0.
The second period belongs to the Remparts. Captain Matthew Boucher beats goaltender Dumont-Bouchard over his left shoulder with a sharp shot. Then, a few minutes later, Derek Gentile redirects the captain’s pass behind the goaltender. It’s 2-2 after 40 minutes.
In the third twenty, the Remparts take the lead for the first time tonight. Andrew Coxhead scored against Dumont-Bouchard with a wrist shot. 3-2 Quebec.
The Titan replied a few moments later. On the powerplay, Captain Jeffrey Truchon-Viel tie the game 3-3 after a pass from Antoine Morand. Veteran Christophe Boivin takes a tough blow to the Remparts 76 seconds later, coming back from behind the net, he beats Dereck Baribeau, who came in at the start of the second period, to bring the score to 4-3.
Acadie-Bathurst then added 3 more goals (Kuznetsov, Truchon-Viel and Theede). Final score : Titan 7, Remparts 3.
The Titan takes the lead 3-0 in the series.
The next game will take place tomorrow Wednesday, March 29 at 7 pm at the Videotron Centre. The Remparts will then face the elimination.
