A close win for the Sags
The Remparts were back home tonight to welcome the Chicoutimi Sagueneens to the Videotron Centre.
Visitors open the score. Kelly Klima let go a shot from the wrists, he beats goaltender Kiselev over the right shoulder. Towards the end of the first twenty, Shaun Bily scored his 4th this season. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.
In the second period. Philipp Kurashev gave the Remparts the lead. He completes a superb play between Ayotte, Bily and him. His shot of the wrists beats Billia to his left. The celebrations are short lived, as on power-play Kelly Klima registered his second of the game. Another shot of the wrists that deceives Kiselev’s vigilance. The score is 2-2 after two periods.
In third, veteran Mathieu Ayotte surprises the Sags goaltender with a long shot from the wrists. It was a 18th this season (a 13th with the Remparts). Again Chicoutimi replies. Mark Bzowey jumped on a free puck and tie the game.
The Sagueneens will then score the winning goal with less than four minutes to play. At the end of a 4 minutes to Andrew Coxhead, the excellent Frédéric Allard let go a shot and scored against Kiselev under the right arm. The last goal will be scored in a empty net (Tremblay-Lapalme). Final score : Sagueneens 5, Remparts 3.
The Remparts suffered a fifth consecutive loss.
With more than 12,000 spectators tonight, the Remparts crossed the 300,000 mark for the 2016-2017 season.
The next game is scheduled for Friday, March 17th, while the Remparts will visit the Oceanic at the SunLife Financial Coliseum in Rimouski. The game will begin at 7:30 pm.
