The series between the Remparts and the Titan continued tonight at the K.C Irving Regional Center in Bathurst with the presentation of Game # 2.
The Titan took the lead early in the game. First, the veteran Christophe Boivin, well posted in front of the net, redirects a pass of Antoine Morand behind goaltender Kiselev. For a second consecutive game Acadie-Bathurst opens the score. A few minutes later, Russian Vladimir Kuznetsov takes a shot from the back of and make it 2-0.
The Remparts will reply later at the first twenty. A fine effort from Louis-Filip Côté allowed him to recover a free puck and beats Anthony Dumont-Bouchard over the left shoulder. It’s 2-1 Titan after 20 minutes of play.
In the second period, we have to wait until the last minute to see a goal. Belarus Dmitry Buynitskiy fires a shot on goal in front of the goaltender. We return to the dressing room tie 2-2 after 2 periods.
At the beginning of the third twenty, the Remparts can’t enjoy two power play and the Titan will then take the lead. Dawson Theede pushed a free puck behind Kiselev. 3-2 Acadie-Bathurst.
Then, with less than 5 minutes to play, the Titan takes advantage of a defensive error of the Remparts to give a priority of two. Thanks to Kuznetsov who scores a 3rd goal in 2 games.
The Latvian Rodrigo Abols scored the last two goals of the match including one in an empty net. Final score: Titan 6, Remparts 2.
The Titan takes the lead 2-0 in the series.
The next two games will be held in Quebec City at the Videotron Centre on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th starting at 7pm.
